I like your balanced assessment of TaxDome. I switched to TaxDome early 2024 and it has been a game changer! However, I found the process of moving from my bare-bones portal to their platform and integrating their features to be significantly more complex than the “few hours” they promised. There is a sizable gap in support for these who are struggling due to significant growth and trying to develop a fully fledged automated workflow solution while still maintaining focus on their practice’s core mission. Conflicting advice from their white glove onboarding team only made the transition more difficult. That said, once I finally stopped trying to find robust training from their live support agents who didn’t seem to understand my concerns and/or workflow, and gave up trying to find detailed training videos and simply dove in, things began to fall into place quickly for me. I found TaxDome to be my “secret sauce” during a tax season with 20% growth in my client base while losing nearly a month of my tax season due to health issues. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the transition was for my tech-savvy clients and shocked by nearly all of my tech-phobic clients easily setting up accounts, signing engagement letters, completing a lengthy organizer online, many of them for the first time! I couldn’t believe how so many people rapidly adapted to communicating through the secure chat instead of by phone or email! I easily reduced my time spent on intake interviews by over 70% and lengthy reviews (meaning more than 10 minutes) dropped to less than 1 in 10 returns. At the same time, my clients were happier than ever with my services even despite a significant increase in my fees. TaxDome isn’t the perfect solution, but it made a significant difference in my practice and productivity. Hopefully TaxDome will listen to the voices of our industry leaders and make adjustments and course corrections to truly dominate our industry.
